How many square feet can the Air Systems Cover?
The EnviroKlenz Air System treats 250 cubic feet per minute on the highest speed setting and ideally, you want to achieve 3-5 air exchanges per hour in the area you are using the system. In a typical home (assuming approximately 10-foot high ceiling), this equates out to be around ~ 1000 square feet or less.
What is the difference between the Air System Plus and Air System?
The EnviroKlenz Air System Plus is larger and contains (2) UVC Bulbs, which help germicidal irradiation and internal cleaning of the system. There are also indicator lights that inform you when individual UV-C lamps need to be replaced.
While the EnviroKlenz Air System does not contain the (2) UVC Bulbs and is smaller in size.

How is this technology different from Carbon?
Carbon is a commonly used material in odor control applications. It absorbs odors; however, it does have several serious disadvantages. Most significantly, carbon only physisorbs toxic, noxious, and other odor-causing molecules, meaning that the unwanted chemicals do not react chemically with the carbon and can be released later and cause the re-emergence of an odor believed to have been initially neutralized or eliminated. Changes in humidity or temperature can hasten this process, causing the odors and other unwanted chemicals to be released back into the air. EnviroKlenz® products have proven to be highly efficient “adsorptive neutralizers” for chemicals making them not only competitively advantageous over carbon, but ideal in multiple chemical sensitive situations. I’ve used 2 Air Pura machines previously. Both the Air Pura and the EnviroKlenz are metal and are on coasters. In effectiveness, I believe the Air Pura is more effective in removing particulates and VOCs from the air. However, the Air Pura filters are extremely expensive and are replaced at 3-5 year intervals. Something about living with toxic molecules captured in a filter for 3-5 years made me uncomfortable, but the cost of replacing an Air Pura filter every 3-6 months was prohibitive. So….I saw EnviroKlenz mentioned on a blog and checked it out. The replacement filters could be changed more often and were priced a bit more reasonably. The EnviroKlenz does a “decent” job for an average environment – small spaces only.

I have scent and VOC sensitivities. I have to wear a mask everywhere I go. I had to wear one at home too. It it not pleasant to wear a mask when you are trying to live life at home where you should feel the most comfortable. I couldn’t breathe especially when we were cooking food. Being on a Facilities team I am educated on air purification. I have been taught that HEPA filtration is not the cure-all for all airborne particles. This unit is designed for purifying air and removing a lot of the VOCs in the air. Nothing is a cure all. There isn’t a device made for the home use to remove all VOCs, mold, particles, etc. This device, however, has made my home a home again! I don’t have to wear a mask at home anymore unless we burn food or someone is wearing perfume. On high the purifier is noisy. When we do have smells that are bothering me we do turn it on high and it clears the room in about 15-20 minutes! Otherwise we leave it on low while we are at home and it keeps the air at a manageable level for me. There is a whisper quite setting that is so low you can barely hear it. I recommend the machine for those of us that are scent and VOC sensitive. If you are severe, it might not but it has helped me.
